The Big Bend Environmental Forum is offering its first forum of the year, entitled "Where Do We Go from Here." The forum will explore what needs to be done to ensure that Lake Jackson will not revert to the same condition that required the County to spend $8 million to restore it. This will be an opportunity for all citizens of Leon County to voice their concerns for and their view of what Lake Jackson should be like. A panel of technicians will present information on water quality, application of fertilizer, aquatic plants, fish ecology, storm water, and other issues relevant to the health of Lake Jackson. Following the presentation by the panelists, those in attendance at the forum will have the opportunity to address questions to the panelists and to provide feedback regarding the health of the lake now and in the future.
Leon County will host a recognition ceremony at 6:00 pm to credit those that contributed to the recent project to improve the health of the lake.
All citizens are invited to arrive at 5:30 for refreshments, to enjoy the recognition ceremony, and to participate in the forum.
