About the Author

Karl F. Hempel, M.D., a family physician in private practice in Tallahassee, Florida since 1980, attended the University of Kentucky's undergraduate programs and Medical College. He received a Medical Degree in 1977, and completed his family practice residency at Tallahassee Memorial Regional Medical Center in 1980. He is board-certified in Family Practice and a diplomat of the American Board of Family Practice. He is president of Tallahassee Primary Care Associates that is a group practice consisting of 24 physicians.

Preventive Medicine is emphasized. I take care of all ages including infants. As an avid exerciser, I promote exercise as the key to good health. I also practice Evidence Based Medicine. This means that I base my recommendations on scientific clinical studies.
