About

Carrie is a graduate of the reputable Florida School of Massage in Gainesville, Florida.

FSM has been teaching massage for 25 years and offers its student a comprehensive opportunity to explore the benefits of giving and receiving massages from centered and present therapists using a holistic approach.

Upon graduation Carrie had completed over 1000 hours of in house training, more than twice that required by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. Her training included highly qualified instruction and hands on experience in various modalities such as:

Swedish
Neuromuscular Therapy
Connective Tissue Therapy
Polarity
Sports Massage
Hydrotherapy
Elderly Massage
Preliminary training in Reiki and Reflexology.

She customizes each massage to best suit the needs of the individual client, utilizing the most appropriate combination of these modalities in light of her understanding of Anatomy, Physiology and Kinesiology.

In addition, she has completed a continuing education course designed specifically to address the symptoms associated with repetitive stress injuries such as Carpal Tunnel and Thoracic Outlet Syndromes.

While in school, she not only completed the required number of hours working in the student clinic, she also helped manage this weekly opportunity for the public to receive student massages at a discounted rate. Concurrently, she organized and oversaw the implementation of a bi-weekly free clinic open to second year medical students at the University of Florida while they studied for their state board exams. She is nationally certified and locally licensed through the Florida Department of Health and Medical Quality Assurance Board

A Magna Cum Laude graduate of Florida State University, she holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Anthropology in addition to minors in Biology, Psychology, and Spanish. In her free time she likes to practice Yoga, T'ai Chi, and Chi Kung as well as outdoor activities such as bicycling and river boating.
