Comments and Study Notes
A non-final action or main verb preceding "ometv" or some other auxliary (helping) verb usually ends with "-et." Efvn
hecet omēs. We are seeing a dog. This is the Mvskokē "-ing" form of a verb used in the same manner as the "-ing" form in English.Example:
Hecetv - |
"to see" |
Hecet |
- "seeing" |
Hec |
- "see" |
They sound alike but the second example assures no confusion with "omes" if you are unable to write or type the long "ē" in a word. In writing, "omēyes" leaves no confusion to meaning.
AN IMPORTANT GENERAL RULE:
The SUBJECT is always present in the VERB as a pronoun even if it (the subject) isn't a separate word at the beginning of a sentence.

Canet efvn heces. |
John sees a dog. |
Efvn hec es. |

Hec is. |
I see. |
Hec etskv? |
Do you see (it)? |
Hecet om etskv? |
