Comments and Study Notes

A non-final action or main verb preceding "ometv" or some other auxliary (helping) verb usually ends with "-et." Efvn hecet omēs. We are seeing a dog. This is the Mvskokē "-ing" form of a verb used in the same manner as the "-ing" form in English.

Example:

Hecetv -	"to see"
Hecet	- "seeing"
Hec	- "see"

The first person plural "-ēs" may also be written as "-ēyes."

Example: Omēs or Omēyes, Hecēs or Hecēyes.

They sound alike but the second example assures no confusion with "omes" if you are unable to write or type the long "ē" in a word. In writing, "omēyes" leaves no confusion to meaning.

AN IMPORTANT GENERAL RULE:

The SUBJECT is always present in the VERB as a pronoun even if it (the subject) isn't a separate word at the beginning of a sentence.

Canet efvn heces.	John sees a dog.
Efvn heces.	He (or she) sees a dog.
Hecis.	I see.

Hecetskv?	Do you see (it)?
Hecet ometskv?	Are you seeing (viewing) it?

Yvhikes.	He (she or it) sings.

*In future, you will learn this as "Canet pipocen enyvhikes."
