National Council of Jewish Women (N.C.J.W.) Tallahassee Section
NCJW is the oldest, national, Jewish women's volunteer organization in America celebrating its 102nd anniversary this year. Today NCJW's 90,000 members in 500 U.S. communities and in 38 countries, dedicate themselves to helping people of all races, religions, and economic backgrounds through a combined approach of community service, advocacy, research, and education - CARE.
Tallahassee Section has a variety of involvement and meetings mirroring the wide interests of our members, both men and women. Some of these include the following community activities:
* Partners in Excellence for The Leon County Gifted Programs
sponsoring their semi-annual science mentoring projects* Florida Center for Children and Youth
* Florida Impact
* HIPPY - Home Instruction Program for Preschool Youngsters
-advocates for a home instructional preschool intervention program
through the development of a consortium of preschool caregivers
* Donation of funds for medical supplies and equipment in Bosnia* Member of Apalachee Federation of Jewish Charities
* Member of HRS Clearing House
* Continuing advocates for legislation effecting women, families,
education, Israel, and justice.
