
WHO AND WHAT ARE WE? WHAT DO WE INTENT TO DO? AND WHY DO WE NEED YOUR HELP?
BOA-USA, inc. is the official fundraising arm in this country of the British Olympic Assoiation and we plan to raise $2 million here to support Team British in the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games.
How? By co-ordinating and promoting fundraising events, by soliciting corporate donations and sponsorships and by building the biggest possible number of individual members throughout the USA.
Joining the BOA-USA will enable you to get involved in the Olympic effort for Team Britain. As the campain continues we will need support and volunteers at every level. We want you to know us because we need your help.
Our commitment is to raise the maximum amount and ensure it goes to the athletes who need it.. and to ensure that the British Team will have a memorable Olympics here in Atlanta. Help us make it Golden for Team Britain.
BRYAN D. LANGTON, C.B.E., Chairman
Bryan Langton, Chairman and chief Executive Officer of Holiday Inn Worldwide,
is also Chairman of Holiday Inn Inc. and Holiday Inn B.V.
He joined Crest Hotels Limited (then part of Bass) in 1971 and became its
Managing Director in 1982. He joined the Board of Bass PLC in 1985. He assumed
reponsibility for all of the Group's hotel and restaurant interests in 1988.
That same year he was made a Commander of the British Empire in recongnition of
his servies to the hotel industry. In 1989 he was President of the Hotel and
Catering Benevolent Association and is currently a Vice President of the
International Hotel Association. In addition he serves as a trustee for the
Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Motel Association. He also sits
on the Boards of the Woodruff Arts Center, Northside Hospital Foundation,
British American Business Group in Atlanta, the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce,
and the Board of Direcotrs of Wachovia Corporation of Georgia and Wachovia
Bank of Georgia. Other appointments include Chairman of the BOA-USA, Inc.,
member of Jimmy Carter's Campaign Cabinet for the Atlanta Project and member
of the Board of Advisors for GSU College of Business Administration.
He became Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Holiday Inn Worldwide
following the completion in February, 1990 of Bass' acquisition of the Holiday
Inn business in North America.
NEVILLE B. COLTMAN, President
Neville Coltman attended King Edwards School in King's Lynn, Norfolk before
developing a career in marketing. A business management graduate from both
Manchester University in England and The Australian Institute of Management in
Melbourne he spent ten years with Shell-Mex and BP in England and Australia.
In 1967, following a year with Xerox, Nashua Corporation hired him to
establish
a sales network in Australia. He was appointed International Marketing Manager
in 1973 and transferred to Nashua NH in the USA. Here he managed new product
launches and international management development courses throughout Nashua's
International direct and dealer operations.
In 1982 Neville set up Winchester Management Technology to provide consulting
services with special emphasis on Sales and Marketing Management training as
well a computer automation.
Married in 1960, Meville lives in Atlanta with Lynette, his Australian born
wife. They have two Brit born boys, Nicholas and Michael, and an Australian
born girl Belinda: none of whom has a southern accent.
Nevill is a past president of the British American Business Group and served
on the 1984 British Olympic Association committee. He plays tennis, golf and
thoroughly enjoys the theatre.
HENRY G. ABSHER, Finance Chairman
Henry G. Absher is a retired partner of Deloitte & Touche where he served as
International Services Coordinator for American subsidiaries of foreign clients
of the firm.
An active volunteer in a number of organizations in addition to serving as a
director and treasurer of the British American Business Group, he presently
serves as a trustee and treasurer of The Southern Center for International
Studies, Treasure of BOA-USSA, Inc. and a member of its National Executive
Committee, Trustee of The Spruill Center for the Arts, and Vice President of
the Accounting Alumni Board of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
