Before attempting to register a problem, please check the Notes-Status page to find out if it is something we are already working on. Unless you can offer new insight to a known problem we are working on, additional mail or phone calls just raises the frustration level and consumes time.

* ftp -- ftp.tfn.net
* pop -- pop.tfn.net (incoming)
* imap -- imap.tfn.net (incoming)
* smtp -- mail.tfn.net (outgoing)

setup Dial-Up Networking

At this time, Tallahassee Freenet does not have any active dialup numbers for users to connect to the system. As a result, Dial-up Networking instructions have been removed. TFN advises its users to connect using the SSH/SFTP or FTP Protocols to access the system Instructions to do this here

setup Outlook Express:
* Open Outlook Express.
* Click Tools (file, edit, view, go, tools)
* Click Accounts
* Click the tab at the top called Mail
* On the right side click Add then Mail
* Display name: Your Full Name
* E-mail address: your_login@tfn.net
* My incoming mail server is a POP3 or IMAP server
* Incoming mail server: pop.tfn.net or imap.tfn.net
* Outgoing mail server: mail.tfn.net
* POP account name: your_login
* Password: your_password
* Internet mail account name: tfn.net
* I will establish my Internet account manually
* Finish, Close
