ORGANIZATION PURPOSE

The Leon County Young Democrats is a countywide, volunteer-based organization. The Leon County Young Democrats serve as an arm of the Leon County Democratic Party and the Florida Young Democrats, as a major grassroots force, and a farm team. The purpose of the LCYD is to promote the principles of the Democratic Party, to develop leadership skills, provide opportunities, and thereby encourage participation in politics. The LCYD are an active political organization for young professionals and college students between the ages of 16 and 41, in Leon County. The LCYD have a continuous working relationship with the FSU and FAMU College Democrats. Young Democrats are the future; however they are an ever-present critical instrument of today.
