Bridges to Practice Training Available in Florida

In May 1999, Rochelle Kenyon from Broward County and I were invited by Leatricia Williams, Program Director, Division of Workforce Development, FL Department of Education, to accompany her and represent Florida at the Learning Disabilities Training and Dissemination Southern States Train-the-Trainer Workshop in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

This five-day workshop forcused on the National Institute for Literacy’s Bridges to Practice and provided training in many topics on adult learning disabilities including: awareness on adults with learning disabilities; screening and diagnosis; service delivery; legal requirements; instructional modifications; and accommodations.

Practitioner's Task Force

Using the training and resources from this workshop, a very comprehensive Bridges to Practice training is now available for adult educators in DOE Regions throughout Florida. For more information on this training contact:
