Franklin County Adult Literacy Celebrates a Great Year

by Bonnie Segree

The Franklin County Adult Literacy Department had a wonderful year in 2000! Here’s why:

  • Twenty students earned GED certificates, and most of these students enrolled in college or vocational training.

  • Another seven students will take the GED Test in February. These students lack only one point in their overall average to receive their GED.

In other news, the staff at Franklin County Literacy Department has established the goal that all GED students will take the GED Test in the year 2001 (before GED 2002 is implemented next January). Also, the Franklin County PALS-Net Consortium will present at the Region One Mini-Conference in Ft. Walton Beach, February 8-9, 2001.

Consortium members invite other conference participants to join them for a presentation that will be fun and full of valuable information.
