Peter
Debelius, M.D., Psychiatrist, Acting Chief Psychiatry Service,

Dr. Debelius is a graduate of Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain. He completed his internship at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and completed his residency at the University of South Dakota, Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Dr. Debelius is Board Certified in Neurology and Psychiatry. He has been the Senior Psychiatrist at the Tallahassee Outpatient Clinic since 1995 and has been Acting Chief, Psychiatry Service at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lake City, Florida since 1997. Dr. Debelius is the current president of the Capital Psychiatric Society.
Lonny R.
Meier, Ph.D., Psychologist, SATP Team Leader
Dr. Meier earned his B.A. at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and his M.A. and Ph.D. at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He completed his internship at Naval Hospital-Bethesda, MD and served five years as an active duty military psychologist. He is licensed as a Psychologist in Florida and Missouri. He has 16 years experience in the assessment and treatment of substance use disorders. He has held positions as director of both residential and outpatient substance abuse treatment programs and has been a psychological and program consultant to other treatment programs. He has also been the coordinator of a residential mental health program and provided assessment services to inpatient mental health programs. He is a Behavioral Health Accreditation Surveyor for CARF and a Mental Health Surveyor for the State of Florida Correctional Medical Authority. Dr. Meier's clinical interests include treatment of substance use disorders, hypnotherapy and the use of computers in clinical settings.
Joan Powers,
M.S.W., Social Worker
Joan has an undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Human Relations from Southwest Texas State University and a Masters Degree in Social Work from Florida State University. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with nine years post master's experience in the fields of chemical dependency and mental health. She has been with the Department of Veterans Affairs from five years and is a member of the Tallahassee Association of Marriage and Family Counselors. Her special interests are relationship counseling and issues of behavioral health, especially smoking cessation.
John Brown, M.S., Addictions
Therapist
John served 20 years with the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft engine technician with worldwide service including Viet Nam. He has 21 years diversified experience working in all fields of addiction recovery encompassing both outpatient and residential treatment, including dual diagnosis. John holds a B.S. in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Counseling and Human Development from Troy State University.
