Neighbors Talking
A mail exchange
function is available at Tallahassee Freenet to which you can subscribe.
Once subscribed it allows you to send messages to other subscribers
on the list. It purpose is to keep those interested in neighborhood
activities aware of what is happening. This can include information
provided by the Neighborhood Association on their organized events,
or any information that you would like others to know. You can post
any message that concerns the neighborhood except for
commercial messages for selling products, or political messages.
Animals lost, you are moving out and wish to sell your house, or
warnings concerning criminal activities that may have happened to
warn others are all ok.
We moderate each message and will approve any that
fit the above guidelines. The main reason for moderating is that a
number of messages have been in error. To make the system more secure
the default is now that no email addresses are visible to other
subscribers, though this feature and many others, may be changed by a
subscriber. For example, you can set your acccount so that you do not
receive any messages, but are able to review the archive to view those
on a specific subject. It is still best not to use an
important password when subscribing in the event you have fogotten and
have to ask the system to send it to your email address, which is done
"in the clear", not encrypted.
At present there are 152
subscribers. Send any questions or comments to waverly@tfn.net
