TFN's modems can negotiate any speed downward of 57.600, this is done automatically. However, the server is limited to 38,400 baud. To test the system sometimes the software on the calling in modem is set to 57,600. Most of this can be dependent on what your computer can do, sometimes this is controlled by the uart which controls your serialport. If it is a 16550AFN you should have no limitations. Sometimes software limits top speed. In your software setup, if you change the speed to up to 57,600 baud, then the modems will negotiate (continuously) the fastest speed depending on line conditions. Some times folks disable the mnp stuff as this can slow down file transfer of previously compressed files.MAINTAINED BY: Brian S. "Buddy" Baker
