When a user's incoming mailbox exceeds the 10mb limit and has not been brought below 10mb within a two week period, the mailbox is copied to the user's home directory to a file named oldmail.* This file can be retrieved and downloaded to the user's hard drive via ftp using this url: ftp://user_id@ftp.tfn.netMAINTAINED BY: Brian S. "Buddy" Baker
The file should be removed from TFN as soon as possible because it's presence in the user's home directory means that the user's disk-space quota of 10mb has also been exceeded. The user will not be able to save anything to their home directory until the oldmail.* file is removed.
If the user's incoming mailbox again exceeds 10mb and the oldmail.* has not beenremoved from TFN, the account will be considered abandoned and will be deleted from the system.
This policy is necessary in order to cut down on system-generated "mail bounce"messages caused by a user exceeding the 10mb quota and to insure that the user's account has not been abandoned. Two weeks is considered a reasonable amount oftime for a user to perform routine maintenance on their incoming mailbox
