Akane yawned and sat up in her bed. "Finally." She thought to herself.
"Friday!" She swung her legs off the bed and sat on the edge stretching.
The week had gone by painfully slow. Ranma had FINALLY asked Akane to go
out on a date Monday evening. Friday couldn't arrive soon enough. But now,
it was finally here.
Akane stood up and got dressed quickly. Eager to get the day started. "I
wish for once that this day would go perfectly, without any weirdness."
She said putting on her school uniform. She failed to notice the shooting
star sail across the sky as she spoke to herself.
Akane darted down stairs and joined the rest of the family who were
already eating breakfast.
"What took ya so long?" Ranma questioned Akane between bites.
"I slept through my alarm." She replied. "Couldn't sleep very well last
night."
"Wouldn't have anything ta do with this evenin' would it?" Ranma said,
enjoying watching Akane blush.
"Maybe." She said starting to eat.
"I'm going to make a killing today." Nabiki said smiling.
"You say anything, and I mean ANYTHING. And you'll take a beating in the
dojo." Akane said glaring at her sister.
Nabiki grumbled.
"Well maybe there is a way ya can make some money anyway Nabiki." Ranma
added.
"Oh?" Nabiki said with renewed interest.
"I'd like ya ta try and make this evenin' smooth sailing. If ya can manage
to keep Ukyou, Shampoo, and Kodachi outta the way for a while.. I don't
see why ya can't make a profit. But keep in mind, I ain't rich ya know."
"I'll keep your budget in mind." Nabiki said smiling.

The walk to school seemed to take longer than usual. Ranma walked along
the fence and Akane walked beside him on the ground. "So." She said. "What
are the plans for this evening?"
"It's a surprise." He said hoping off the fence to walk beside her.
"Hrmph." Akane pouted. She'd waited all week for Friday to get here, and
now he wouldn't even tell her where they were going. School was going to
be especially boring and long today.
"Vile sorcerer. Release the hearts of dear Tendo Akane and the pig-tailed
girl, or thou shall be smited by Kuno Tatewaki, oft times called the Blue
Thunder of Furinkan High." A voice said a from a little ways in front of
them.
"Great." Ranma muttered as Kuno stepped into view.
"I challenge you Saotome Ranma. I shall make you release the spell you
have placed upon my true loves! Then they shall be free to express their
love for me Kun.." *THUD*
Kuno was interrupted by Ranma's foot connecting with the side of his
delusional head. He fell to the ground. Ranma jumped over him and
continued walking to school.
Akane kicked him for good measure as she passed by his unconscious form.
"Baka. Sometimes I wonder which of the Kuno siblings is dumber."
Ranma laughed, and the two hurried off to class, getting in the door just
as the bell rang.

"Argh" Ranma said tapping his pencil on his desk. "I can't stand English."
"Saotome Ranma! If you have something to say, kindly say it to the entire
class." The teacher yelled, annoyed by his distraction.
"Sorry." He mumbled and snapped his pencil in half. He looked at the
clock. Thirty minutes and he'd be at lunch. He sighed and glanced over at
Akane.

"Saotome Ranma! If you have something to say, kindly say it to the entire
class."
Akane giggled. It looked as though Ranma was having just as hard a time
waiting for school to end as she was. She glanced over in time to see him
snap his pencil in half.
"He's so cute when he's embarassed." She thought and smiled.
****************************************************************************
"Wonder what she's smiling at." Ranma thought to himself. "Man, why'd she
have ta smile. It drives me crazy." He looked away.
He glanced at the clock. Twenty five minutes. He sighed and copied the
notes down from the black board with what was left of his pencil.
Ranma's stomach growled.
"Well that's just great." He thought. "Another reason ta wish this class
would end." He looked over at Akane. She was giggling. Ranma blushed.

"Poor guy." Akane thought. She couldn't hold back and giggled softly.
"Come to think of it, I'm getting hungry too."
Akane looked at the wall clock and sighed. Seven minutes. "Argh."
"Problem Akane?" The teacher asked. "Perhaps you and your friend Ranma are
bored with this class and need something a little more challenging. I want
you to stop by my desk after class."
"Damn." The both thought and dropped their heads onto their desks. The
entire class had a laugh at their expense.
***************************************************************************
After an eternity, the bell for lunch finally rang and the class filed
out. Akane and Ranma stood silently at the teachers desk.
"Now, since you seemed so bored with the normal work today, perhaps it
will be more amusing for you two if you had something more challenging."
She handed them a sheet of paper with a long paragraph written in Japanese.
"I want this translated into proper English, and I want it on my desk at
the beginning of class Monday morning. And if you are late, you will read
it in front of class."
The two cringed and uttered a half hearted, "Yes Ma'am" and walked out of
class.
